The ATS is a Technical Society of Engineers Australia and is a member of the International Tunnelling Association.

The ATS advances the expertise and knowledge of the Australian Tunnelling Industry through all factors affecting the design, construction and utilisation of underground space, including technical aspects, health and safety and environmental considerations.
