Join the ATS in Brisbane to celebrate the occasion of the Sydney Harbour Tunnel project being awarded the International Tunnelling Association’s (ITA) Top 50 iconic tunnel projects of the last 50 years.

Members will be able to watch the presentations live from Sydney.

This special event will entail presentations, memories and panel discussions from the people who brought this iconic project to life. Stories will be shared about the bold planning, the complex design challenges overcome, photographic memories, and the advanced construction methods used to deliver this landmark project. Attendees will discover the operational and maintenance challenges encountered so far, and gain insights into the custodianship that lies ahead over the next 30 years. Finally, the ITA President Arnold Dix will offer closing remarks and present the award.

• Project introduction- Dara McDonnell – Arup, representing the next wave of engineers who understand the project
• Planning panel – A discussion on the initial planning of the project by Bruce Judd, Rob Parks and Ted Nye
• Meet the designers panel – with speakers including Ted Nye, Patrick Wong, Lewis Gomes, Doug Tomic, Peter Wheen.
• Meet the photographer – Margaret Rush (project photographer) will share some memories
• Delivery Panel – with speakers including Andrew Marsonet, Bruce Judd, Bob Nowotny and Tony Shepherd
• Operation presentation from Bob Allen
• SHT resilience with Arnold Dix
• Award presentation to Camilla Drover
