SUMMARY:ATS Young Members Site Visit to Western Harbour Tunnel Stage 2
DESCRIPTION:Event Summary\nThe ATS Young Members invites all students and young professionals (35 years of age or under) on a site visit to the Western Harbour Tunnel (WHT) Stage 2 works\, on Monday\, 2 December 2024. \nThe site visit will include a brief presentation on the WHT project followed by a guided tour of the Cammeray ventilation tunnels and Falcon Street decline tunnel. \nThis event is proudly supported by: \n \nProject background\nWestern Harbour Tunnel (WHT) will be a 6.5 kilometre road tunnel connecting the Rozelle Interchange to the Warringah Freeway near North Sydney and crossing underneath Sydney Harbour between Birchgrove and Waverton. The project is being delivered in two stages. Stage 2 includes connections from Stage 1 at Cove Street in Birchgrove\, underneath Sydney Harbour to the Warringah Freeway in North Sydney\, and complete tunnel fit-out. \nTunnel excavation is currently progressing below the Warringah Freeway towards Ridge Street in North Sydney. Additional roadheaders will continue excavating the mainline tunnels beneath Waverton towards Sydney Harbour. \nFor more information on Stage 2\, visit WHT Stage 2. \nEvent Registration\nPlease note that this is a registration to enter the draw for the site visit due to the limited number of attendees permitted\, it does not guarantee a place on the site visit itself. Successful registrants will be notified of their selection via email/calendar invite after the draw has taken place. \nOpens: Tuesday\, 19 November 2024\nCloses: Friday\, 22 November 2024 \nNote: Registrations for the ballot will be capped at 100 registrants. \nRegister your interest here\, or follow the QR code below \n \nMeeting point\nDetails will be communicated to the successful registrants \nTickets \nFree\nMinimum Requirements for Site Visit \n\nAttendees must be 35 years of age or under.\nLong trousers\, long sleeve shirt and safety boots.\nHard hats and safety glasses if you have them\, otherwise these will be provided.\nDust masks must be worn underground and everyone will need to be clean shaven to enter the tunnel (non-negotiable). If unable to shave for religious or other reasons\, please advise on successful selection as there are other options.\n\nP.S. Don’t forget to also register for ATS NSW Chapter St. Barbara’s Day Celebration which will be held at The Greens\, North Sydney\, following the site visit.
